If you had one month to live, what five things would you do?

N.B.  Sappiness ahead.

1. Write a letter to my son telling him that I love him, trying to describe how much he has meant to me, promising him that he already has within him the ability to do the things he has to do and wants to do in life and reminding him that you have to be kind, baby. 
2. Make sure I hmm-hmmm my husband every single night.  He already knows how much I love him, but I'd remind him as often as I could.
3. Stand outside in the backyard with a cold beer and quietly admire the season and its colors and textures.
4. Call up JDS and Kurt and my Uncle Pat.
5. Say thank you to my parents and everyone else who has loved me.  I didn't really always deserve it, and I wasn't always grateful for it. 

I'd probably also listen to A LOT of American Music Club and John Coltrane.
