What family member do you most aspire to be like?  Why?

Oh, I don't know.  Pretty much everyone in my family is generous, loving, intelligent, funny, independent, and completely fucking batshit insane.  In a good way.  Oh, except Lisa, I guess; she's not batshit.

We all kind of do our own insanity and don't really aspire to mimic the insanity of the others.  Keeps the family get-togethers more interesting.

And now that we have a Jehovah's Witness in the family (my uncle that she married always calls it the Witness Protection Program--he's not a fan), things have really gotten out of hand.

Seriously.  I love each and every one of my family members, from my Great Aunt Doris (oh--she's also probably not batshit) who still keeps that grapefruit orchard even though she lives alone, to my cousin Jen who runs off to LA for the holidays to spend Thanksgiving with Drew Barrymore, to my Grams who makes absolutely monstrous crafts and wears coordinated purple pantsuits, to my uncle who married a Jehovah's Witness and finds himself in perpetual trouble with the IRS a la Willie Nelson (I keep waiting for my uncle to show up in Taco Bell commercials).  Love 'em all.  But aspire to be like any of them?  No.  I have problems enough of my own.

And, yes, Mom, if you are reading this, I love you, also, and you're also a bit batshit.  Don't try and deny it.
