QotD: Also Known As
What other names did your parents consider for you?
Heh. My parents were dead certain I was going to be a boy. I was to be Matthew Wayne. My mom made these ceramic wall hangings for "Matthew Wayne."
When I came out a girl (some dispute my femininity, but I do not, in fact, have a penis), they were flummoxed. They hadn't even considered girl names. My father, being a man with very odd taste, wanted to name me D'Andra. My mother fought fiercely to ensure that I was not burdened with an apostrophe. After 10 days of bickering, they finally settled on the one first name that I do have; this is why I have no middle name. It would have taken another 10 days to come up with a middle name.
I like my name. It is neither too common nor odd, and I find it euphonic.
